How many PD’s will the IIBA CBAP Accelerator study group provide students?

The intention is that the accelerator group qualifies as PD, but the requirements must be met for each class in order for the PD to survive an audit. Requirements are detailed in the IIBA gloabl faq (eligibity requirements) and also the recertification handbook.

The accelerator group is run for around 2hrs a week over 12 weeks with a maximum of 1 PD credit per hour.

How many CDU’s will the IIBA CBAP Accelerator study group provide tutors?

Participation as a tutor in the accelerator group qualifies as 10 CDUs category 3C Speaker/Instructor on business analysis at a conference, symposium, workshop, formal course or IIBA chapter meeting. The requirements must be met for each class in order for the PDU to survive an audit. Requirements are detailed in the CBAP handbook here.

How many CDU/PD do I get for BA related Conferences?

Professional Development (those not yet certified)

  • workshops (on the day and post-conference) count toward Professional Development (PD) hours.
  • presentations and keynotes do not as they do not meet the feedback/interaction/assessment requirement.

Continuing Development Units (CDUs) (for re-certification)

The workshops (on the day and post-conference) count toward CDU category 2B. All other sessions (keynotes, presentations) count toward continuing development (category 2D). Please review section 5.2 of the CBAP recertification handbook should you wish to receive further clarity on CDU categories.
