Vendor Assessment is often part of selecting a third party solution, but is perhaps less well understood. It involves looking at the organisation offering the solution - such as their capacity, capability, and match to your own organisation. Discover when it's appropriate to use the technique, and how to go about it, then discuss how to avoid common pitfalls. Please bring your own vendor assessment experiences to share.
Shirley has, in her many years as a Business Analyst in New Zealand and the UK, been involved in a number of procurements. Her ideal project is one where she is involved first with the procurement process and then with the implementation of the selected solution, using knowledge built up during the procurement. She’s currently employed at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise -Te Taurapa Tūhono, where most recently she’s had the chance to do this for a project code-named Spider. She’s been a qualified CBAP since 2010, and recently created digital assets for IIBA for the Vendor Assessment technique.
